Hello Kaohsiung Insiders. We're only a couple weeks into the new year and it's almost time to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Whether you're staying in town, battling with the crowds at some of the tourist spots around Taiwan or getting off the island, we hope you enjoy a well earned vacation. But before the holiday, I want to announce the January/February user contribution prize. As this month's prize is being announced somewhat later than expected and given the fact that many of you will be off enjoying your vacation during CNY, we've decided to combine January and February to give you more time to get your reviews on the site.

This month's prize comes compliments of New York Pizza. Located just across from Wufu Market (XinJueJiang), this newly opened pizza place is proud to be one of the only spots in Kaohsiung to offer pizza by the slice. New York Pizza will throw a party for the top reviewer on the site. The lucky winner can invite as many friends as he or she wants and their group will enjoy 4 large pizzas, cheap beer, and free tea for all attendees. NY Pizza boasts a selection of 8 different kinds of handmade pizza. The restaurant also serves fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets, wings and Caesar salads. Free delivery is available customers within 2 km of the restaurant.

January Meet-Up at Foster Hewitt's

Just a quick reminder about this weekend's Meet-Up. Come on out to Foster Hewitt's Pub & Grill to enjoy some free food off of their menu. Users will get to sample a selection of dishes between 10 and 11 PM on Saturday, January 17th. At around 11, all those who're interested can come next door to enjoy some cheap bowling and beer. We've organized a tournament and arranged special prices just for users. No good at bowling? It doesn't matter because we're just there to have a good time, meet up with old friends and get to know some new ones. So if you're not into the bowling, feel free to relax over at Foster's or come to the bowling alley just to hang out.

The Aboriginal Invitation Live Music Concert in Pingtung County.

For those of you sticking around at Chinese New Year, SanBa is back with a huge show planned in Pingtung County. The Aboriginal Invitational Live Music Concert will be held over 2 nights, Jan 26th and 27th. There is a full line-up of local and foreign acts including DJ Marcus Aurelius, MA Collective, and more.
