This is a great standbye restaurant, that consistently turns out decent quality food at a reasonable price with decent sized portions. There is one in Kenting too. I think I am addicted to the Chicken Burritos there, but just about all the dishes are good. They do an excellent in-house salsa I often ask for a second portion of it and have never been refused. The service is fast and efficient and the staff are friendly and polite. Pretty much what you want in a restaurant.

Smokey Joes is a safe bet for a relaxed evening out.
Their menu selection is extensive, and they have an excellent selection of cocktails. The prices are decent, and if you have an Amy's club card, you'll get a 10% discount. (Which neatly removes the 10% service charge.)
They are capable of seating some prodigiously large tables, and handle tables of 25+ well.
The only real negative of Smokey Joes would be that their staff is often not as attentive as you would like. Their management and cashier staff are always on the ball though.

a catch-all restaurant that should have a bit of something for everyone...the western and chinese dishes are pretty consistent, the staff is well trained and the decor (while not to everyone's taste) has a certain tacky charm that is fun once in awhile...amy's has been a local powerhouse in the restaurant industry for a long time, and for what all her establishments are trying to be, i think this one pulls it off the best.

As I live not too far from Smokey Joe's, it was my first 'foreign' style restaurant I tried out when I moved to Kaohsiung and while it's not amazing food it does have a huge menu of food and drinks and it's a huge place to boot.
Walking in one is reminded of Chili's, on steroids. Plethora of junk covers the walls, from cow skulls to license plates, etc.
I generally order a different dish each time, as the menu is quite large. Their french fries are good (and use Idaho potatoes too woo hoo!).
Their beer selection is generally quite good and they have a wide variety of mixed drinks.
Parking a car is quite easy actually. Head further north on Zih-You about a block or so, on the left hand side you'll see a small nursery with lots of plants. Just after that is a small entrance to a parking lot that you can use. Make sure you give the parking stub to the cashier when you pay.
If you're looking for a place to have some drinks and food with friends this is a good choice, just expect it to be loud.

Welcome to Disneyland, no not really but if you give it a moment....You may find it easier to find parking for your two wheeled vehicle here, but not much else is different from the location downtown. Of course not, this is a chain of restaurants that prides itself on quality and consistency. They work hard at it here and the servers take their jobs seriously, almost devoting their entire lives to benefit Amy's. Recently, I found the salad and Italian dressing to be fine, pizza was ok though I don't enjoy crust that is as soggy as it is thin, and a Texas beef sandwich dripping with grease. Where do they get their salsa?
