A good spacious gym on the 6th floor of the Dream Mall with a great selection of machines and free weights and various other facilities. Clean, odor free changing rooms. Free towels [1 big, 1 small]. They also have heaps of different exercise classes including aerobics, jazz dance, spinning, yoga, Tai Chi and more. They have a decent lap pool, sauna, steam room and water therapy pool with water jets, a jaccuzzi and an ice pool. It is in a very convenient location if you live in the south of Kaohsiung or downtown and it is close to an MRT station, it also has very convenient indoor free parking for cars or bikes. I have heard people complain about the membership price, my advice is bargain. I got 15 months for $10,000 last year [which I think is good for any gym] but I heard that some people have paid 12,500 for 12 months! If you do not bargain and you look like you haven't a clue the guys there may try to sell it you for $15,000! The people who sell you the membership work on a commission basis so the more you pay the more they get. I do not like the hard sell you get from some of their sales staff especially the token foreigner who works there, and I do not like the aweful lighting, [red & yellow] it both looks and sounds like a disco sometimes, especially when they have a lot of top 10 Chinese muzak blaring out. They have TVs in front of, or by, all the running and aerobic machines but no cable so you only get 3 Chinese language channels over the head sets. BTW you can pay month by month if you have a credit card. Many people are now wary of paying for a whole year in advance after a couple of local and national gyms crashed last year and the members lost their money. My advice to the management of WG is change the lighting, cut out the crappy music and get cable tv, you would then have a really good gym. I will update the prices above (May 2009) I just got an offer of $8,800 for 13 months if I bought a 2nd year.
