WuFu Market -aka- Xin jue Jian -aka- Shinjuku Market... Haha... Whatever it maybe called; it is still one of the biggest hotspots for young people to shop and eat and shop. They have many gift shops and street stalls that sell a variety of things. It is a good place to check out and spend your money. If you are skilled at bargaining, feel free to try to bargain even at stores.
While this one is downtown close to major shopping and sight seeing locations as well as an MRT station, it's certainly a crowd pleaser for the young and hip - and crowded it is. There is a plethora of eye candy here in the form of jewelry, cosmetics, clothing, fashion accessories and even the two legged mini-skirt variety sporting Hello Kitty or Pokemon paraphernalia all over themselves. If your young or just wanting to learn something about local pop culture (Japanese inspired for sure) on this side of the globe, take a visit.
How does one go about actually reviewing a night market? Is it the stinkyness factor of stinky tofu? Is it the plethora of cheap, sometimes questionable food? Is it the throngs of people?
As far as night markets go I've not been to that many, as I generally hate crowds of people. And yes, I know the irony, moving to one of the most densely populated countries in the world.
As for Wufu, well it's fine. I haven't really seen much that excites me, there's plenty of different food stalls, lots of clothing and other types of stores.
I refuse to go to the movie theater there on principle. The few times I went before they cut the film as soon as the credits started rolling. Maybe I'm a chump but I enjoy watching the full credits, plus, I have family members and friends that work on movies and god damn it I wanna see their name up there on the big screen! Debating with the manager got me no where, so yeah, I don't watch movies there any more.
Oh and the 'official' car parking lot closes early, like 11 I think, we know this as the last time we saw a movie there it ended around 12:30, went to pick up our car and no one was there and we couldn't get the car out, so had to take a taxi home, fun...
