In my opinion this is the best night market in Kaohsiung. It gets 5 stars for the huge number of food and shopping stands that are becoming more and more diverse. I've got to subtract one star though for the pain in the ass it is to park your bike there, especially as the police are getting more strict about parking violations.

The general fealing for me about night markets is that they are noisy, obnoxious and dirty places with not much to offer for even a spend thrift. A lot of parading (girl/guy) goes on at these places and this one is no exception. But night markets are touted in all the tourist brochures here as a definite place to visit, stroll, take photos and spend your money. This one is smack dab in the middle of a bustling and increasingly pretentious district.

First came upon RuiFeng one fine Saturday morning, the sun was shining and I was struck by the wonder as to why anyone would visit such a place unless of course it was during the evening hours and even the brightest lights could not shine upon the darkness as the sun does.
Have been a few times since, nothing special, as in another review, I don't like crowds, and I'm not at the point in life where I'll write in depth reviews of a night market and it's plethora of food and other choices.
It's not far from Foster Hewitt's, in which case why go to RuiFeng when you can get a better meal and booze not that far away?
