We went to this new restaurant thinking we would get a Western brunch but instead, found (yet another) menu full of Taiwanese flavored pasta, high prices, bad service and long wait for food. We ended up with one hot entree and one cooled entree because of bad kitchen time management. The cooled entree was a risotto that was undercooked, slightly burned and cold from being served late. When we asked the waiter about the dish, he expressed this is the way the chef intended. *shrug*

Teresa's serves authentic, delicious South American food off a Mandarin and English menu in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. The catchy Latin American music in the background, the wall signed by hundreds of international visitors, the friendly service, and the tables decorated with foreign currency and photos make this a great place to enjoy a meal with friends. There are plenty of dishes to either have as an individual entree or to share around the table. I love Teresa's and love sharing an order of her cheese empanadas as a side dish!

Mumbo Jumbo Gelato has the most beautiful flavours and is the smoothest gelato I've tasted in Taiwan. I had Earl Grey and Melon in a waffle cup and my friend tried pure chocolate and crunchy cookies. They had lots of other tempting flavours, including bordeaux wine and a rich vanilla. The gelato counter area itself is tiny but you can go upstairs to a lovely sitting area to eat or sit outside on a quiet, pedestrianized street.
The only criticism I have for this place is that it took over 20 minutes for a coffee to be made and served to one of my companions. This meant that everyone was finished their gelato by the time his drink had arrived. This was fairly easily forgiven, however, as there was a large group that was served immediately after us. Other than that, it's a great place to sit and have a visit over some of the most delicious gelato I've ever had!

At Bagel Bagel, I almost never order anything aside from bagels, pizzas, and the occasional sandwich. It's certainly not because the food isn't any good. It's more because a plain, toasted bagel takes 15 minutes to get to my table or ready for takeout. I'm honestly afraid to see how long it will take the cook and waitstaff to get the food to my table if I ask for anything any more complicated than that.
I once ordered a pizza, and it had been at least forty minutes before they told me they realized they had burned it. They offered to try preparing another one, but by that point, I was so cranky and starving I just paid the remainder of my bill and left.
A year later, I gave it another try, but I found that the service had gotten painfully slow and the waitstaff somewhat incompetent. If it wasn't bad enough that that the music playing inside was really loud, and the waitress serving me spoke almost in a whisper, she couldn't even answer any of my questions about the food they served, like whether or not it was vegetarian. It felt like it took much longer than it should have for her to take my order.
It's such a shame the service is so slow because I quite like their food. If I didn't have to wait so long for a bagel or a sandwich, I'd probably eat there at least every week.

I grew up in New York City, eating real New York pizza, so my expectations for "New York Pizza" were never very high to begin with. But I never imagined that pizza could be this bad.
Being that it was a small pizza joint, and not a fine-dining restaurant, the lack of decent service there was something that I could easily get over. The quality of the pizza on the other hand was just so bad, it still makes my stomach churn thinking about it.
My first slice was beyond disappointing. It was plainly offensive. The pre-made pizza sat out for who knew how long before it got reheated and served. Not surprisingly, either the cheese or the sauce was off by the time it made it to my table, and my pizza tasted like a dank, moldy towel. Needless to say, I have no plans to ever go back to New York Pizza.

I think this gym is great - although my one gripe is that the classes are not in English. Apparently there are a couple of instructors that speak English, and if you see them prior to the class they will instruct the class in English and Chinese.
Swimming in the outside pool when the weather gets a little colder is great because you will be the only one in there and you will not swim into slow swimmers in the fast lane.
There are always enough cardio machines for everyones use. All have a television screen showing the usual cable channels.
They generally do not do discounts for membership. We paid 24,000NT for 15 months.
