If anyone knows what ever happened to F.Y.I. South the magazine and could PM me I'd appreciate it.

When I first moved to Kaohsiung in 2006 F.Y.I. south was a big help. Through it I found a game store, and by finding that game store I met some great friends. However I've not seen a new magazine in a long time, the website hasn't been updated and the only thing I can ever find is the pull out map, which to me is now not needed as I'm acquainted with K-town.

This was a not so short lived magazine by any standard, who's mandate was to publish positive neutral material on the businesses, arts and culture and general happenings in and around Kaohsiung, Tainan, etc. It was a free glossy monthly magazine so you can see how advertising was crucial, and expensive from what I've heard. Now the legacy in its many informative articles stand only to be sourced and resourced for future generations to come.

When I first came to Kaohsiung this was one of the few resources for foreigners living here. Back then it was a monthly magazine with restaurant reviews, business listings and most importantly that map that so many of us relied on until if fell apart from so much use.

I'm not sure why, but all that's left is the map and a bunch of advertising. It doesn't look like the website is kept up to date either. And based on the restaurant reviews they give on the site compared to the experiences I've had at the same places, I find it harder and harder to trust.
