I studied at TLI for about a year when I first came to Kaohsiung. It was pretty hit or miss depending on which teacher you had and who your classmates were. If you had the right group of people it was great, but other times you could get stuck with a group who were determined to speak as much English as possible and spend most of class asking the teacher how to pick up girls or swear in Chinese.

I've heard they changed the books since I went. I haven't seen the new ones, but I did like the old texts. If you're new to Chinese and want to get a taste of Chinese without the huge investment of a semester at WenZao you should check out TLI.

Nothing is more satisfying then being able to yell at the guy who cut you off and make him understand you.
TLI has greet classes for a reasonable price. They take it slow off the top for you first timer, but they will also work you in and then ride you hard.
